What it means for your next trip

The same trip doesn't have one price. It has a range, and the bottom of that range rarely sticks around. If you search once and book, you get whatever the fare happens to be that day. If you search every day, you spend your evenings on it, and the low can still come and go while you're asleep.

That's why Airfare Alerts lets you name your yes-price and watches the fare for you. The moment it hits your number, you get a ping and decide.

How we measure it

  • Every number compares a trip only with its own earlier checks: same route, same dates, same filters and cabin. No mixing nonstop fares with two-stop ones.
  • Swing is the gap between a trip's highest and lowest fare, as a share of the lowest.
  • A trip counts once it has been watched for 30 days and checked at least 20 times. Trips stay in the dataset after they end, so it grows every day.
  • The data is anonymous. We publish only these totals: no names, routes, dates or individual fares.
